Does Naturopathic Acne Treatment Work?
Years ago when my acne was at its worst, I tried to treat it naturally. I used handmade, ultra “clean” organic skin products, did full-body detoxification and cleanses, and took expensive, high-quality supplements. I tried homeopathic medicine, herbal medicine, and hormone balancing. I fasted (no food), and avoided entire food groups.
Despite my dedication and patience, my skin did not improve.
Over the years, I've seen countless clients also fail to clear their acne with natural methods.
Here's the story of Lacy, who recently had a similar experience:
When Lacy developed acne out of nowhere, she assumed, like many, that treating it naturally was her best option. She followed every bit of advice from her naturopathic doctor, but her skin only got worse.
So often, the restrictive diets, supplements, and all-natural products recommended actually cause your skin to break out even more.
Here's what happened:
Restrictive Acne Diet: She was placed on a very limited and strict diet - so strict that it left her feeling weak, malnourished, and with deep, dark circles under her eyes.
Supplements with B12 and Kelp: She was prescribed a range of “very expensive supplements,” containing B12 and kelp, which were supposed to balance her hormones and cure her acne. Instead, these supplements triggered more acne, as B12 and kelp are acne-causing ingredients.
Worsened Skin Condition: Despite following the diet and supplement regimen, her acne got worse, spreading to her back and chest. She even developed painful, throbbing breakouts between her eyebrows.
After several months of adhering to this strict protocol, she was left feeling sick, weak, and more self-conscious about her skin than before.
The Turning Point
Feeling hopeless, Lacy found our acne program through a friend's recommendation. And within weeks of starting Clear Academy, she noticed significant improvements:
Less Inflammation: Her skin began to calm down, and the painful breakouts started to subside.
Balance: By stopping her restrictive diet, she regained her energy and was able to live her life without constantly worrying about what she was eating.
Clear Skin, Renewed Confidence: 3 months later, she finally has clear skin, which she manages easily with a simple skincare routine.
If you're experimenting with restrictive diets and supplements to try to control your acne, you're likely doing more harm to your skin than good.
These approaches fail to treat the root cause of acne: retention hyperkeratosis, which is when dead skin cells accumulate inside your pores every day and have to be managed topically.
Too often, “natural” treatments will prevent you from achieving clear skin. Our method is to focus on a results-based approach with a high rate of success that can actually make a difference in your acne.
